THIRD BLOG HOP Build a Line Challenge 2016 Master Class


Welcome to my last Blog for this Challenge...I have learned so much from my Mentor and Teacher Brenda Sue Lansdowne. Not only about the art of Jewellery making but about myself and life in general. To say that the last three months have been a rollercoaster ride is an understatement. I knew I would be challenged beyond my expectations when I began the course in January at a time when my husband Trevor had taken a turn for the worst with his Cancer and I would be full time carer and nurse for him but I wanted to continue and he wanted me to as well...I'll make no more mention of this sad time other than to say I lost my dear Trevor on 22nd March 2016. I know he would have wanted me to see this commitment through so I am writing this for him and me of course. I had written this once already and in my haste I deleted it earlier today and was unable to retrieve it so here I go again.

A Style Emerges and a Line Begins

 I have chosen my components wisely and  Colorized the ones that needed it....here are some of the pictures of my work in progress 




I have had so many ideas spinning around in my head. So I've been just "going for it" and using my favourite techniques on my chosen pieces in Raw Brass which I intend to team with the wonderful plating finishes on B'sue's Stampings and embellishments. 









So far I can reveal my two finished pieces for your viewing pleasure. ...I have a pair of  "Surf Sandals" as pictured to your left and Below


My second finished Piece is My "Sea Queen" Statement Cuff.



By now you may have guessed the name of my Line or maybe not...to tell the truth I am still tweaking it .....I'm thinking maybe   QUEENS of the SEA ?

I guess that will depend on the rest of my line....so far my Surf Sandals feature a crown connector and my mermaid wears a crown...so we shall see what evolves!!!

My Journey has Begun in my Master Class 2016

I'm Lyn Reeve of MadeforYouAlone,and I'd like to tell you about my experience so far along with 40 other class members in the Build A Line Master Class Challenge 2016.
This is number one Blog in a series of 3 to be delivered over the next 3 months.
As a designer of one off jewelry pieces I am hoping to achieve the knowledge to create a cohesive line of jewelry for a gift line and i will be making a minimum of 5 pieces which all work together to form my line. My chosen style will be Sea, Sand  
and Surf.

Christmas Season

Here I sit on Sunday 27th December at home with hubby. Not quite as I planned it. We got the camper set up on Wednesday 23rd at the Van Park...check...I knew Trevor was in pain because his last chemo was 10 weeks ago but I was positive and hopeful that we would get this last week with the family before he had his chemo again.. Well we got the shopping done on Xmas Eve, I got to spend a lovely few hours with my daughter Lauren just us two catching up on lots of chatter and goss over our breaky at the coffee shop..Xmas lunch was casual as my other daughter and son in law had to work so our special dinner was at night...Yay made it through!!!

These are two of the bracelets i sold as xmas gifts which I was very excited about so I have much to be grateful for don't get me wrong
By Boxing Day we decided to take Trevor to the emergency department to get some help with his pain..
By george those Fentanyl shots work a treat!!! Sadly they wear off...he thought he was invincible for a few hours yesterday making all sorts of plans to go back to the Van Park.
Not happening....we are at home which is the most comfortable place for him to be...I am looking at my design plans for the BALC to keep my sanity...
My frustration levels are off the scale just now because he made a bad mistake not having the chemo while he could and would have been so much better for Xmas.
What's done is done though.
I don't mean to bring anyone down with this blog as on a positive note I gained back time I wouldn't have had if I was in the Van Park....all my lovely pretties are here around me in my craft room which I can retreat to at any time for a little release...I'm hoping for better news by Tuesday when I will be insisting on seeing the Oncologists and pushing for his chemo to be done a week earlier than scheduled..
Wish me luck with that guys...in our public hospital system we have to take what we are given...no private cover so its the free hospital system for us...
I have so many design ideas twirling around my tiny mind its awesome!!!! Can't wait to start on the 5th and share good news with you all then
